If you add to this the opportunity to spot marine mammals such as sperm whales, this is a passage you don’t want to miss. All this while strengthening your seamanship and sailing competences. Our captain Gregory will also be happy to coach you on any aspects of your sailing theory you may find useful, tying it to the passage in order to make it real-world applicable.

A sailing trip being inherently subject to the hazards, adjustments to the planned route may be necessary due to unforseable reasons, prevailing wind, sea and weather conditions, as well as the condition of the vessel and crew. The start and arrival ports should however remain as planned.

- You will be a full member of the crew, where active participation in all duties inherent to sailing a vessel is required.
- You will improve your sailing skills and seamanship under expert guidance.
- As for all of our voyages, you’ll receive a passage certificate as a proof of your time at sea for your mileage building and sailing license.
What you will learn or improve
- Safety: emergency procedures and safety equipment usage (liferaft, lifejacket, EPIRB, etc.).
- Organisation of life onboard: journey planning, provisioning, watches organisation, galley duties, maintenance and cleaning.
- Passage planning, weather forecasting and routing.
- Sailing maneuvers: active participation in all sailing maneuvers, such as steering, trimming, tacking, gybing, reefing, etc.
- Usage of essential sailing equipment such as autopilot, plotter, radar, VHF, satellite communication.
- Navigation at night.
- Logbook fill in.
