Our offshore passages – or ocean voyages – are journeys across the open sea, ranging from coastal navigation to island hopping to ocean crossings.

There are various types of offshore passages, each with its own characteristics:

Short ocean passages typically last a week or more and may involve sailing between neighboring islands or along the coast of a continent. These are ideal for sailors with limited time or those seeking to gain initial experience.

Long ocean passages often span several weeks, covering vast distances such as from Europe to America. These journeys require extensive self-sufficiency and meticulous planning.

Passages in cold waters take you through regions such as the North Sea, the Arctic or the Antartic, where you must be prepared for extreme weather conditions and icy temperatures. The wildlife and landscapes are unique, but the challenges are significant.

Passages in warm waters occur in tropical or subtropical regions such as the Caribbean. The weather is generally pleasant and these warm waters offer rich marine life and beautiful beaches.

Starting late July in Germany after a major refit for SV Enola, our 2025 passages campaign will sail us all the way from Barth in Germany to Saint-George’s in Grenada around mid-December.

12 passages, mixing island hopping, coastal navigation, ocean voyages and 4 long-distance RYA qualifying passages —including a westbound Atlantic crossing. Not to mention a 100% women-only passage.

On the menu: the Kiel Canal, the English Channel, the Solent, Britanny, Bay of Biscay, the Azores, Madeira, the Canary Islands and Cape Verde, before crossing the Atlantic all the way to the West Indies.

To be announced soon, but as a quick preview, be ready to sail through the magic waters of the Grenadines, the French West Indies, the Virgin Islands, the Bahamas, Bermuda, and an eastbound crossing to the Azores to wrap up our 2026 Winter-Spring voyages.

Summer will then bring us up to the North Sea, sailing through the Faroe Islands, Norway, Shetland, main Scotland, the Hebrides, and Ireland, before going back to Horta in the Azores for the Fall season.
