The Grand 8 Sailors Circle

The Grand 8 Sailors Circle is a nonpartisan, nondenominational Swiss association as defined by Article 60 of the Swiss Civil Code. It does not seek financial profit.

Through its Enola Sailing Project, the association transcends the role of a more traditional and recreational sailing club by focusing on adventure sailing and environmental protection:

  • In parallel, we are committed to environmental initiatives that contribute to ocean conservation and marine research. We promote and share environmentally friendly sailing practices and carry out and/or support scientific research projects.

Enola Sailing Project Structure

A Brief History

The Grand 8 Sailors Circle was created in August 2024 to support and structure the Enola Sailing Project.

That December, the club purchased S/V Enola, its expedition vessel.

This acquisition was essential for organizing offshore passages for the association’s members and for having a yacht capable of sailing at any latitude, like for the Enola Grand 8 Expedition, which will circumnavigate the Americas starting in 2028.

Become A Member & Get Involved

The Enola Sailing Project is more than just a sailing venture; it is a community-driven initiative that offers unique experiences to its members and contributes to broader societal and environmental goals. These are some of the compelling reasons for individuals to join and support the project through membership in the association or further financial contributions.

Be Part Of A Unique Sailing Community

By becoming a member, you’re joining a community that values camaraderie, seamanship, environmentally friendly practices and the joy of sailing. Whether you’re a seasoned sailor or a novice, the project offers opportunities to develop skills, share experiences, have fun, and be part of a collective journey.

Promote Environmental Awareness

The Grand 8 Sailors Circle is deeply committed to the protection of oceans and marine life. Through its voyages, the project helps raising awareness about marine conservation and encourages sustainable practices among its participants and the public. Your support helps amplify these efforts and promotes a culture of environmental stewardship.

Support Maritime Education

The project provides immersive sailing training, fostering the development of maritime skills. By joining and contributing, you enable yourself and others to access these opportunities, promoting knowledge sharing and skill development within the sailing community.

Be Part of a Nonprofit Initiative

As a nonpartisan and nondenominational Swiss association, the club operates without seeking financial profit. Your annual membership fee and other financial contributions directly support maintaining the vessel, organizing voyages and expeditions — such as the Enola Grand 8 Expedition, and facilitating scientific programs. This ensures the project’s mission, sustainability and growth.

Get Exclusive Benefits

As a member, you will have access to a number of benefits, including early passage members-only deals, substantial discounts on sailing gear, members-only sections of the website, downloadable exclusive educational content, preview of ad free videos, special prices in branded merchandise, a private Telegram or WhatsApp channel, and more.

Experience Personal Fulfillment

Supporting the association provides intangible rewards, including personal satisfaction, a sense of purpose, and the knowledge that you are contributing to a meaningful cause. It’s an opportunity to be part of something bigger than oneself, fostering connections and friendships, and creating long lasting memories.
